Postgraduate study in English and American Studies is supported by the world-class John Rylands 天美影视 Institute and Library, which has exceptionally rich holdings in our field.
We have a strong research record and staff of recognised international standing in both traditional and emerging areas of the discipline, as evidenced by the following active research groups:

There is a large and active postgraduate English and American studies community which runs an annual conference and publishes its own journal.
We offer excellent postgraduate facilities and a bursary scheme for MA students and sponsorship for PhD students to attend conferences.
